House with the Gabion, 2017
The Gabion has become overgrown, it is both ruinous and modern at once. The property is located on a highland on the banks of Pawna lake, Lonavala in Maharashtra, India; offering some breath-taking vistas. This country home starts with an 8 foot thick Gabion wall, which acts as a spine, the first marker which runs for 170 feet, from north to south. The wall emerges as a backdrop to the house. It effortlessly gives way for nature to engulf it with the passage of time. With the house being on the threshold of negotiating between breathtaking views and a luxurious lifestyle on one hand, while on the other it accepts nature as a fellow passerby to take charge and grow on the house.
